Nowadays most of the owners provide vaccination to their pets whether they are dogs or cats. They always wish that their pet is healthy so that they lead a happy life. Initially dog vaccination was a common sight but even the cat vaccination has become very popular. Though they are not prone to diseases as much the dogs are but still they are been given shots to protect them.
Vaccination is a good option as it protects the pet. But it is important to take the advice of the vet before you give any type of vaccination. So let us know about some of the vaccinations that are given to cats. They are described below in detail.
1. Feline Infectious Enteritis
It is also known as FIE and it usually used against vomiting with high fever. When this vaccine was not introduced many of the cats died suffering from these symptoms.
The two most prominent viruses that cause cat flu are FCV and FVR.
2. FVC or FVR
Both these vaccination are given when they suffer from sneezing, cough and nose and eyes discharge. But the most fatal is the FVR. It is not a dangerous one but can transfer their virus to other cats. Therefore if your cat has some symptoms do not take your cat outside as it may pass it on to other pets.
3. FeLV
Most of the cats are found to be suffering from this disease that is spread through the saliva. It is so dangerous that if proper care is not taken then they may die also. Cats that are ill from a very long time are bound to have this problem. It is prominent in areas where they share their food or water in the same bowl. So if you have lots of pets then you must have different bowls for all pets. This will protect them from such consequences.
Another vaccine that is used is the one against eyes and nasal discharge. It proves to be beneficial in the long run.
These are some of the types of vaccinations that are provided to cats. Though they do not have great health issues but still they require care. Pets cannot be left alone without any vaccines. They should be given at fixed time so that they are fit and robust. Therefore keep you cat healthy by giving her shots at regular periods to keep her away from diseases.
